Physical Power

I enjoy the energy rush I get from the work I do; it’s always difficult to reach that state of finding love in what you do.

I won’t call it love, let’s call it vibe. Okay I have no word for it yet. But, it’s this feeling of not getting tired or nagging about work.

In the early part of last year, while I work remotely, I never saw the need for a physical job because I could always do what I did from the comfort of my apartment.

After a few months of working as a product manager and marketer, I realized I got sicker, tired, and lost enthusiasm for my work.

My routine revolved around my room and estate of residence – Waking up, praying, eating, reading, working, online meetings that were non-stop, and movies.

I believe recalling back to the Garden of Eden, man wasn’t made to be static. Looking back to our history too, we see that our ancestors were men of work; when I say work I mean they sweat.

In today’s letter, I want to remind you of who you are. You are made to sweat daily.

Now sweating sounds like a curse, I will explain soon before your religious mind crucifies me.

We’ve been conditioned into a life where we only dream of ease in just the glamour. And this is as a result of social media. It’s hard to really see the behind the scenes of the people we admire.

We forget that our body needs us to sweat daily. The people we see right on the Media learned how to sweat in the secret.

Let me break down the word ‘sweat’ before we move further.

I think you should be able to put together my words soon. If you recall my last year’s routine, it was all about comfort and living indoors with minimal engagement with nature or any form of sweating.

It literally affected my passion and desire for things. After a thorough reflection of my previous and current state. I can say that staying indoors with no physical activity made it worse.

Now, you will probably ask how sweating affects one’s life.

When I say sweating, I am talking about giving your body a thorough beating. Now, this beating can come in different forms and styles. Others prefer to walk, run, jog, lift weights, box and hike.

How you decide to beat your body is your choice.

There is a need for physical power and good health, I believe a lot of things contribute to your mental health, physical health and physical power but sweating is one key thing that can transform your mind and body positively.

You might feel weak and tired at all time. Maybe, you are always bored out of life.

Getting your body to sweat is one way to get your mind active and all your body parts productive.

If you are consistent with this, you will literally see changes in your attitude towards life and majorly your health.

I am being careful of mentioning the gym because I think some people dread the gym.

Sweating doesn’t require you to visit the gym. You can get your body to sweat right there in your room.

I started with the Home Exercise App for years now, which I think you can also easily start with. I think I’ve not just been consistent with app. You can check your Apple Store or Google Store for the one you prefer. It’s free.

Walking also brings a lot of benefits. I don’t mean strolling. I mean making sure you walk 10,000 steps daily.

Dan Koe share some tips for Walking (For Creative People Like Me)

If I could attribute my writing and creator success to one thing, it would be walking.

To me, walking is my creativity block. It’s where I:

  • Listen to audiobooks and long YouTube lectures (actualized.org is my favourite)
  • Read physical books
  • Write down ideas that I want to write about
  • Walk in silence to allow my mind to solve a problem, relieve stress, or bring clarity to my goals or vision.

To live a seamless life you have to learn to sweat. Now, how you choose to sweat is best yours to decide.

I shared content on Telegram recently,

here it is –

Do not allow more than 2 hours of inactivity.

Get up and go for a walk. Do a few pushups or lunges.

Move your body and feel the rush of new energy and creativity.

I think I recall working for the CEO of Salesruby last year, he said something and that was profound – Let me paraphrase what he said – the people you see smiling and being happy do it intentionally. The people you see with so much energy do it intentionally.

Energy and Happiness comes from intentionally working for it.

Whenever I see him jumping or moving his body in the office, I know he is trying to beat his body.

You can simply put on music in your room and dance like you’ve never done before.

I do this.

Alright, you are allowed to smile but not laugh. I dance better than you I know.

Simply curate a set of music you know you’ll dance to any day and anytime and sweat.

I feel like the whole story I’ve typed up there is an introduction to the letter itself.

Physical Power

We’ve talked about Spiritual and Social Power.

When it comes to physical power, hitting the gym comes to your mind and as the lazy person that you are. Okay, let’s not use the word – lazy, let me say shy, you are too shy to use the gym with others.

This life is survival of the fittest and strongest. You need to be fit on all sides – Spiritually, spiritually and soulishly.

Now, I don’t think I want to place each of them on hierarchy but they are all very important. Neglecting one simply means you are neglecting the other.

They work together as one – just like the Trinity.

Physical power is about your body staying healthy and strong.

A lot of us stay at being healthy and not strong.

You must learn to be deadly. It’s funny how I confess this deadly before going out.

I am dangerous. – It’s funny right. I say this to myself to remind my body, soul and spirit that as much as I am gentle when it comes to dealing with anyone I can be deadly.

This is also to encourage me to find ways to be stronger physically, spiritually and soulishly. I had to sign up for the gym and ensure I exercise daily at home even if I can’t attend the gym daily.

I ensure I walk at least 5000 daily.

The next step for me is to learn to fight – I haven’t started but I think I want to learn how to box.

You never know when it will come in handy (lol).

I think having power isn’t also basically to fight. It’s knowing and having that understanding that you aren’t weak or feeble. It builds into our mind affecting how we react to life generally.

Knowing you can protect yourself and loved ones.

The strength in power is knowing when to not use it.”

Let me share how you can build your physical power.

How do you build Physical Power?

I would have requested you ask ChatGPT, but you might be too shy to do that. I mean Not Lazy.

  • By training – using the gym, walking or a personal home fitness routine.
  • By eating well & healthy meals
  • By resting – enough sleep and rest.

I have written some action steps below, you can start this week.

I will be writing to you again.
