How to earn your dream salary
Think about it for a moment. When you were younger, a hundred naira felt like the whole world. Your mother pressed it into your palm and you ran to the shop feeling rich. You could buy snacks, drinks, and still have change to spare. That hundred naira had weight. It had meaning.
Today, even a child knows that a hundred naira cannot buy much. Not because the note looks different. Not because it weighs less in your hand. But because your understanding of value, purchasing power, and the world around you has grown. Your brain adapted without you even asking it to.
Now here is the deeper question. If your mind could make that shift so naturally when it came to spending money, why has it struggled to make the same shift when it comes to earning it?
Think about what someone earned in a month ten, fifteen years ago. A decent salary then would barely cover groceries today. The economy moved. Inflation moved. The cost of everything moved. But for a lot of people, their income stayed exactly where it was. Not because opportunity disappeared but because their relationship with money never evolved beyond what they were taught growing up.
And yet, right now, in this same economy, in this same Nigeria, there are people earning the equivalent of ten people’s salaries every single month. Not because they are ten times smarter than you. Not because they got lucky or stumbled into some miracle. They simply learned to see opportunity differently and then moved on it.
That is the philosophy of money. It rewards those who understand it, respect it, and position themselves correctly to attract it.
So before you continue, sit with these two questions honestly. Are you truly ready to invest your time and energy into building something that lasts? And do you genuinely believe that you are capable of more than where you currently are?
If your answer to both is yes, then you already have the most important thing. The right mindset.
Here is what most people get wrong. They believe that a degree is the finish line. They spend years in school, collect their certificate, and then wait for success to find them. But a degree is not the destination. It is the foundation. What you build on top of it is entirely up to you.
Building a successful career requires a clear sequence. It starts with choosing the right path deliberately, not by accident or by what your parents preferred. Then it requires equipping yourself with the specific knowledge that career demands, which is often where people give up because it is the hardest part. After that comes the practising stage, surrounding yourself with people already on that path, absorbing their experience, and letting it shape yours. And finally, documenting everything along the way so that when opportunity knocks, you have the proof to back up every claim you make about yourself.
That last part matters more than most people realise. In a country where even your birth has to be documented, your career story needs to be told clearly and convincingly on paper before anyone gives you a chance to tell it in person.
That is exactly where we come in.
At C2F, our job is to help you close the gap between where you are and where you are capable of being. We help you choose the right career direction, build the knowledge and experience that employers are actually looking for, and document it all in a way that gets you noticed locally and internationally.
